Where have you been? (Edward)

When Alice slipped from the Cullen's back door, it was late in the afternoon. Everyone seemed to be doing their own thing, and with Jasper off hunting she was bored out of her mind. Thankfully, she knew where her brother lived and that meant that fishing him out of her sister-in-law's grasp wouldn't be too difficult. Well, it might be, but she'd figure it out anyway. The couple's cottage was in site when she sat down and leaned her back against a tree.

She wouldn't go any closer to the home, as she wasn't sure what Edward and Bella would be doing in there, so she simply 'called' for Edward from a safe distance. Edward? I'm bored and everyone is busy! Come outside? Her thoughts were loud, but she knew that he was the only one who would be able to hear her.

Edward stood up when he heard Alice thought yell at him, He sighed loudly. Bella was up having some alone time with Renesme, so he had sitting on the bed in his wife's and his room. He looked out his bedroom window at her, and decided to say "Please come in Alice, I will meet you in the living room" He didn't say it though, because he knew she would see it in his future. He then went and sat on the couch, looking at the door, awaiting her entrance.

Alice was waiting for his 'reply' and she smiled, and stood before she was at the door in only a moment. She couldn't hear the heartbeat that would announce her niece's presence, and she figured that Renesmee and Bella were out of the house. Opening the door, Alice stepped inside like she owned the place and smiled at Edward. "Good afternoon, Edward!" she called brightly, moving to sit on the couch in the living room.

Edward took the fact she spoke out loud that she wanted to continue this interaction outloud, in the normal..human.. way. He gave her a smile and said in response "Good afternoon Alice" He then watched as she skipped into the room and sat down "Please, have a seat" He added with a little sarcasm, rolling his eyes.

He then decided to say "What are the others up to?" he did not want to say anything out loud, because if Bella was listening.. and what they were doing was dangerous, she would freak.

Alice's smiled widened at his sarcastic comment. As much as it was childish, she rather enjoyed messing with Edward. They shared a special bond, stemming from the way that both of their abilities seemed the be intimidating to others. Despite that, she often revelled in annoying him in some way or another. "Thanks!" she said, her voice not loosing it's cheerfulness.

Edward spoke, "What are the others up to?" Knowing that the words had never been said, she smiled and replied, I'm not sure. Nothing too interesting, though I'm sure that Rosalie and Emmett are.. enjoying each other. Jasper is hunting alone.. again. The last part was thought with a particularly sour tone, even though her expression remained happy.

Edward couldn't stay mad at the little annoying creature, so he laughed his musical laugh "You're welcome, Alice." He said lightly, adopting a human pose by sprawling out on the couch, looking over at her.

He then continued his silent conversation with her "When are Rose and Emmett not enjoying each others company? Why is Jasper hunting alone?" he planned to say, changing his mind just before he said it, so that she would have still saw it.

Alice glanced at Edward, but as her eyes glazed again, she saw yet another vision of what he was about to say. This was the easiest way for her to talk to her closest sibling. Mainly because the others would be able to hear a spoken conversation if they strayed close enough. This way, it was only her and Edward. She stifled a bell-like laugh and shook her head. Touché..... Honestly? I don't know. I wonder if he's having a harder time having Renesmee around all the time than he would like to admit, or if he's just enjoying the hunt alone. But we both know that you're the only one who can tell me what he's thinking.

Edward nodded slowly "it must be hard for him, having to deal with having a half human around him all the time. I remember how hard it was when Bella was around" He lost his train of thought for half a second, before he continued "Have you seen anything that the Volturi are planning" He decided to say before yet again, changing his mind. Sometimes it was too easy to forget and say something out loud, so whenever he had these occurrences with his favorite sister, he had to be on the ball.
