For the first time in forever (Embry, R)

Calypso leaned against a tree, her mind racing as she looked over the cliff. Every so often, she'd come to the cliff just to feel the adrenaline when she jumped off but today, she was torn. Either go to the beach to think of how she felt lonely and depressed and how she refused to shift so her pack members don't know about that. Or jump off the cliff into stormy water. The rain fell down hard, making her hair and clothes press to her body like second skin but she took no notice. Moving silently and quickly, Calypso stood at the edge of the cliff and breathed in deeply. ''Here goes nothing..'' She muttered, about to take a leap when she heard the crack of a twig behind her causing her to let out a feral growl.

Embry couldn't stand it anymore. Sitting around with the rest of the pack as they had fun and hung out with their imprints had been getting to him more than he would have liked to admit. Thankfully, it was only Jacob and the rest of their friends were the only ones who could see his thoughs these days. He missed the other boys, but the smaller, close-knit group was easier to be around. By the time he focused on where he was, he realised that his feet had carried him to the place that he had gone cliff jumping with the first pack. Embry saw a girl in front of him, looking as though she was about to jump.

He was about to run to her, to stop her from taking the leap, but she had turned around before he had the chance. At the growl that left her lips, Embry lowered into a defensive crouch, ready to fight. But as soon as his eyes met hers, he felt the most surreal feeling. Something he had only ever felt through the mental link that he shared with his pack. Everything changed- his whole world meant nothing anymore. This mystery girl was everything, and he didn't even know her name yet. "Er.. hi! I'm sorry to bother you," he stammered out, a blush creeping on to his dark cheeks.

Calypso growled louder, crouching down but then all of that changed, her body relaxed and it felt as if it wasn't the world holding her down. It was him. It was all him. Her heart pounded in her chest, making her almost take a step back but somewhere in her mind, her wolf told her she'd fall. Licking her lips slowly, she brushed her dark hair out of her face whilst her almost gold eyes narrowed, watching the strange boy in front of her. His voice was like music to her ears, singing to her blood like no others did. ''N-No...It's perfectly alright...'' She called towards him, staring at his blush making her all too aware of the blush on her own cheeks. Calypso took a step away from the edge, a step closer to the boy she felt magnetized to.

Embry felt a rush of relief, bigger and more powerful then he had ever felt before, when her response told him that she wasn't upset. He allowed himself to inspect her face for a few moments, memorising every line and plain of perfect skin. Inhaling through his nose, his heightened sense of smell revealed her scent to him. It was beautiful, but there was another that mingled with her's, one he recognised. "You know Paul Lahote?" he asked, though quickly regretted it. How would he know that, and how would he explain how to the girl before him. If she asked, he didn't know how he would be able to keep the secret. He had to talk to Jacob as soon as possible, but the mere thought of leaving the girl made an unrecognisable pain blossom in his chest. "My name's Embry," he said, his voice careful as he introduced himself.

Calypso watched him stare at her, his beautiful eyes burning their trial on her body and she took this moment to scan every little part of this man. Breathing in softly, her eyes closed for a short moment as she savoured the smell that was intoxicating. His question startled her, her gold eyes snapping open to meet his. "I..yes I do. We're quite close I guess you can say." She admitted, before another scent met her nose. Rachel..."Do you know..Rachel Black?" She asked, breathing in again to get that familiar smell of wolf. Her mind and stomach did emotional flips, hoping the smell was what she thought it was. Part of her begged her to run to Paul to ask questions but the other whined, not wanting to feel the pain of being apart. "Embry.." His name rolled off her tongue with ease, loving the way it sounded. "I am..Calypso.." She replied, ignoring the faint blush on her cheeks.
